  17. What *IS* TAL-Net?

  21.         TAL-Net is an exciting new adult electronic message network, 
  22. made especially for Texas Computer Bulletin Board services that cater to 
  23. the adult community.  TAL-Net allows the adult user to communicate with
  24. others from many different systems throughout Texas.  TAL-Net is 
  25. dedicated to being very liberal, with very few rules and/or limitations 
  26. imposed on both sysops and normal users.  We see a bright future for 
  27. TAL-Net, and hope to increase its span tenfold.

  29.         TAL-Net uses the Fido standard of mail transfer.  If you're
  30. a sysop and wish to join TAL-Net, your BBS software must be able to
  31. interface with a front-end mailer compatable with Fidonet.  Sysops who join 
  32. will be given a unique Fido style "Node Number" or "Address" depending 
  33. on what area code thier BBS is run in.

  39. TAL-Net Guidelines are few and simple:
  40.  
  41.        ■  FIRST OF ALL - You are required to HAVE FUN!  Anyone who is seen
  42.           NOT having fun is subject to extreme harassment!
  43.  
  44.        ■  FLAMING and stuff like that is only allowed in the "WAR" 
  45.           conference(s).
  46.  
  47.        ■  You MUST follow any rules imposed on you by either TAL-Net
  48.           administration or the conference moderators.
  49.  
  50.        ■  SYSOPS must show their TAL-Net membership somewhere on their 
  51.           opening logon screen.  It can be as big or as small as wished,
  52.           as long as the TAL-Net name and node number are shown.
  53.  
  54.        ■  Texas SYSOPS must pledge to restrict access to the adult TAL-Net
  55.           echos to users of 18 years or older.  Sysops of other providinces
  56.           must limit access to whatever is legal in said providence.  THIS 
  57.           RULE ALSO APPLIES TO SYSOPS OF BBSES WISHING TU RUN TAL-Net: 
  58.           Sysops lying about thier age so that they can carry TAL-Net can 
  59.           be prosecuted by both the TAL-Net Administrators *AND* the 
  60.           sysop of the host board they pull mail from.

  67. If you are a sysop and would like to join TAL-Net, please do one of the 
  68. following:

  71.     - Freq "TALAPP" from your closest TAL-Net host system, or
  72.       freq from our Zone Nodelist Coordinator at 44:817/5.

  74.     - If you are in the DFW area, you can call TEXAS Nights at
  75.       (817) 232-0077 and leave email to the sysop with information
  76.       about your BBS and its location.
